Facebook New Customer Tracking vs Popsixle ‑ Ad Tracking Pixelfor Shopify (2026)
Facebook New Customer Tracking and Popsixle ‑ Ad Tracking Pixel both operate in the advertising category on Shopify. However, they have distinct focuses and user experiences. Facebook New Customer Tracking specifically targets merchants looking to optimize their Facebook ads by sending a 'NewCustomerPurchase' event to Facebook, aiming to refine audience targeting towards potential first-time buyers. Its strength lies in its niche functionality of identifying and tracking new customers. Popsixle, on the other hand, seems to be a more general ad tracking pixel, evidenced by the name, but its functionality is limited in the data provided. The critical difference between the two is user confidence and perceived reliability. Popsixle benefits from a significantly higher rating (5/5) based on a larger pool of reviews (15), suggesting higher user satisfaction. Facebook New Customer Tracking, in contrast, has a lower rating (3/5) based on a single review, which makes the rating less reliable. The description of Facebook New Customer Tracking emphasizes its role as an extension to existing Facebook Ads setups, indicating it's designed for merchants already comfortable with Facebook advertising and CAPI integrations. Given the minimal information on Popsixle, it's difficult to ascertain its target audience beyond merchants generally needing ad tracking. Its ease of setup and value proposition are also hard to determine from the provided data.

Our Verdict
Based on the limited information, Popsixle ‑ Ad Tracking Pixel appears to be the safer choice due to its significantly higher rating and larger number of reviews, implying greater user satisfaction and reliability. However, the limited information also means it's hard to recommend it. If a merchant specifically needs to optimize Facebook Ads for new customer acquisition and is comfortable configuring Facebook Pixels and API keys, Facebook New Customer Tracking could be considered, but with caution due to its low rating and minimal reviews.
For a merchant new to advertising or looking for a general ad tracking solution, Popsixle is the tentatively recommended starting point given the available data. However, its specific features and benefits remain unclear. Merchants should investigate Popsixle's capabilities further. Facebook New Customer Tracking is best suited for advanced users already familiar with Facebook Ads and CAPI who specifically require new customer tracking and are willing to accept the risk associated with its lower rating and limited reviews.
