EZ Internal Linking Assistant vs Smart Recipesfor Shopify (2026)
EZ Internal Linking Assistant and Smart Recipes target very different segments within the Shopify ecosystem, despite both relating to blogs. EZ Internal Linking Assistant appears to be a utility app focused on optimizing website structure for improved SEO through internal linking. The 5/5 rating with 18 reviews suggests that existing users find it effective for its intended purpose. Smart Recipes, on the other hand, is specifically designed for merchants in the food and beverage space (or related industries) who want to showcase recipes on their Shopify store, drive engagement, and link ingredients directly to products for sale. Its primary strength is enabling recipe creation and SEO optimization for Google Search carousels. Because Smart Recipes has no ratings and no reviews, we can infer it is either new or lacks significant user adoption. However, its detailed description and feature list highlight its intended functionality, which is recipe management, SEO optimization, and product promotion through recipe integrations. EZ Internal Linking Assistant does not provide similar recipe management features, rather focusing on improving existing blog posts and web pages. Smart Recipes, conversely, lacks any functionality for building internal links within blogs aside from its ability to link recipe ingredients to product pages. The core difference is that EZ Internal Linking Assistant improves the existing website structure and Smart Recipes improves on content creation and recipe management. EZ Internal Linking Assistant does not offer product-to-product relationships. Smart Recipes offers this in the form of products-to-recipes.

Our Verdict
If you're a Shopify merchant primarily focused on enhancing your existing blog's structure and SEO through improved internal linking, EZ Internal Linking Assistant appears to be a viable option based on its user reviews. It's important to note the low number of reviews however and further research or trial may be necessary. On the other hand, if you're in the food and beverage industry, selling food-related products, or a cookbook author looking to share recipes and directly link ingredients to your products, Smart Recipes is the more suitable choice. Its features are tailor-made for recipe management, display, and product promotion.
However, the lack of reviews for Smart Recipes is a significant concern. Merchants should proceed with caution and carefully evaluate the app's functionality and support before committing to a paid plan. Until Smart Recipes gains some positive feedback or can prove its capabilities, EZ Internal Linking Assistant is the safer bet for its specific purpose.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?

Which app is better for improving my overall SEO?

Potentially, yes. You could use EZ Internal Linking Assistant to optimize the internal links within your blog posts (including recipe posts created with Smart Recipes). This combined approach might offer a more comprehensive SEO strategy.
