Essential Trust Badges & Icons vs Font Pro: Custom Fontsfor Shopify (2026)
Essential Trust Badges & Icons and Font Pro: Custom Fonts both aim to enhance Shopify stores, but target vastly different aspects of design and user experience. Essential Trust Badges & Icons focuses on building customer trust and highlighting key product features through visual cues like badges, banners, and icons. It's designed for merchants looking to visually communicate guarantees, security, and other trust-building elements. Font Pro, on the other hand, is centered on enhancing the store's typography and visual appeal by enabling merchants to easily integrate custom fonts, including Google Fonts, Adobe Fonts, and self-hosted fonts, without requiring coding expertise. The primary difference lies in their core functionality. Essential Trust Badges & Icons is about visual merchandising and trust signaling, while Font Pro focuses on overall aesthetic customization through typography. One helps convert sales by displaying trust symbols; the other helps build brand recognition with unique typography. The large difference in the number of reviews (554 vs 3) indicates that Essential Trust Badges & Icons has been adopted by more merchants and has likely been available longer, although this does not directly equate to app quality or usefulness. They are similar in that both are design elements within Shopify.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with improving customer trust, visibly highlighting guarantees, and boosting conversion rates through visual merchandising, Essential Trust Badges & Icons is the more suitable choice. Its strength lies in its library of trust badges and the ease with which these can be customized and strategically placed on product pages.
However, for merchants seeking to elevate their brand identity and create a unique aesthetic experience through typography, Font Pro: Custom Fonts provides a more powerful solution. Its focus on seamless font integration, performance optimization, and no-code approach makes it ideal for businesses investing in their visual branding beyond basic trust signals. Although it has fewer reviews at this time, it promises ease of use even for those new to Shopify. It is important to consider the review count when making a decision.
