ES Customer Approval vs Madgic Order COD Form & Upsellfor Shopify (2026)
ES Customer Approval and Madgic Order COD Form & Upsell, while both falling under the 'Forms' category on Shopify, serve fundamentally different purposes and cater to distinct merchant needs. ES Customer Approval focuses on enhancing security and controlling customer onboarding by allowing store owners to review and approve sign-ups. This is particularly useful for B2B, wholesale, or exclusive stores that require a verification process before granting access. Madgic Order COD Form & Upsell, on the other hand, is geared toward optimizing the Cash on Delivery (COD) checkout experience. It aims to streamline the process, capture potentially lost sales through abandoned cart recovery, and increase conversions through features like partial payments and customizable forms. The critical distinction lies in their core functionality. ES Customer Approval acts as a gatekeeper, vetting customers *before* they can even browse the store, while Madgic focuses on improving the checkout experience *after* a customer has already decided to purchase. Consequently, their target audiences differ significantly. The former is for stores prioritizing customer verification and controlled access, while the latter is for stores that utilize COD as a payment option and seek to enhance its efficiency and effectiveness. The vastly different ratings and review counts also suggest a significant difference in user satisfaction and app reliability.

Our Verdict
Choosing between ES Customer Approval and Madgic Order COD Form & Upsell depends entirely on your store's needs and business model. If you operate a wholesale, B2B, or exclusive store where controlling access and verifying customer identities are paramount, then ES Customer Approval is the relevant choice – assuming the low rating is addressed with updates or more positive reviews in the future. However, if you primarily rely on Cash on Delivery and want to streamline the checkout process, recover abandoned carts, and boost conversions through advanced payment options, Madgic Order COD Form & Upsell is the more appropriate solution. Considering the significantly higher rating and review count of Madgic, it suggests better reliability and customer satisfaction, making it a safer bet unless customer approval is a non-negotiable requirement.
