EasySell COD Form & Upsells vs Shopify Subscriptionsfor Shopify (2026)
EasySell COD Form & Upsells and Shopify Subscriptions both aim to enhance the selling experience on Shopify, but cater to vastly different needs. EasySell focuses on optimizing Cash on Delivery (COD) sales, primarily targeting merchants in regions where COD is prevalent, aiming to increase conversions and average order value (AOV) through upsells, downsells, and order form customization. Its strength lies in its order management and conversion rate optimization for COD, offering features like phone number verification, automatic Google Sheets export, and integration with marketing pixels. In contrast, Shopify Subscriptions is designed to build recurring revenue streams by allowing merchants to offer subscriptions for their products, enabling predictable income and increased customer lifetime value (LTV).

Our Verdict
The choice between EasySell COD Form & Upsells and Shopify Subscriptions hinges on your business model. If your target market relies heavily on Cash on Delivery and you aim to maximize conversions and AOV through optimized forms and upselling, EasySell is the clear choice. It provides tools to mitigate risks associated with COD orders and improve the overall process. However, if your business strategy revolves around building a loyal customer base and generating consistent revenue through recurring sales, Shopify Subscriptions is the more suitable option. The lower rating suggests potential usability issues, but Shopify's native integration provides a foundation for long-term stability.
Common Questions
Which app is better for a new Shopify store?
It depends on the store's product offering. If you're selling products that people would likely want on a recurring basis (coffee, vitamins, beauty products), Shopify Subscriptions could be valuable from the start. If COD is critical for your target market EasySell might be better initially.
Can both apps be used simultaneously?
Yes, theoretically. You could use EasySell for standard product purchases and Shopify Subscriptions for products offered on a subscription basis. However, this adds complexity to your store's management.
Which app provides better long-term value?
Shopify Subscriptions has the potential for better long-term value if you can successfully build a subscriber base. Recurring revenue is a stable foundation for growth. EasySell's value is more immediate, focused on maximizing current transactions.
How does the lower rating of Shopify Subscriptions affect its usability?
The lower rating suggests that users may have encountered challenges in setting up or managing subscriptions with Shopify Subscriptions. This could stem from integration issues, complex settings, or confusing interfaces. However, Shopify often iterates on its core apps, so these issues might be addressed over time by 2026.
Does EasySell COD Form & Upsells integrate with payment gateways other than COD?
The app description focuses primarily on COD. While it offers upsells and other features, the core functionality appears to be centered around COD order processing. No mention is made of other payment gateway integrations.
