Our Verdict
Choosing between Doc 404 and Judge.me depends entirely on your business priorities. If you're experiencing significant bounce rates, suspect broken links are hindering your SEO, and are technically inclined to implement redirect rules, Doc 404 is a valuable tool. It's best suited for merchants who prioritize a seamless user experience and maintaining site health. On the other hand, if you're seeking to boost conversions by leveraging social proof, building trust with potential customers, and actively collecting reviews, Judge.me is the clear choice.
Realistically, successful Shopify stores need *both* features. A well-functioning site that instills confidence through reviews will outperform one lacking either. However, based on the typical growth trajectory of a young ecommerce store, I would suggest starting with Judge.me to get traction and sales, then adding Doc 404 to fine tune site performance and handle technical debt.
