DIY Terms & Conditions vs Lifter Age Checkfor Shopify (2026)
DIY Terms & Conditions and Lifter Age Check both fall under the 'Legal' category on Shopify, but cater to very different needs. DIY Terms & Conditions focuses on obtaining consent and acknowledgement of policies and restrictions related to sales, shipping, returns, and product limitations (export, resale, age, etc.). It ensures customers agree to these terms before completing a purchase. In contrast, Lifter Age Check is solely concerned with age verification, particularly for merchants selling age-restricted products like alcohol, tobacco, or vape products. It aims to deter underage visitors and ensure legal compliance by presenting an age verification screen upon arrival or on specific product pages. DIY Terms & Conditions offers broader customization and policy enforcement, while Lifter Age Check provides a focused solution for age-related legal requirements.

Our Verdict
The choice between DIY Terms & Conditions and Lifter Age Check depends entirely on the merchant's specific needs. If a merchant requires a comprehensive solution to enforce terms and conditions, acknowledge restrictions, and record consent, DIY Terms & Conditions is the more appropriate choice. However, the lack of reviews makes it a risky option to trust. On the other hand, if the primary concern is age verification for age-restricted products, Lifter Age Check is the superior app due to its focus on age verification and its existing positive user reviews. It's a more targeted solution for a specific legal requirement. Given the zero rating of DIY Terms & Conditions, Lifter Age Check might be preferred based purely on available social proof, even for merchants needing T&C functionality (which could potentially be achieved through other methods).
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
It's difficult to say for sure, but Lifter Age Check, with its focus on a single function (age verification) and claims of being 'beautiful' and 'optimized for mobile', may offer a simpler setup experience. DIY Terms & Conditions, with its broader customization options, may require more configuration.

Does DIY Terms & Conditions verify age?
DIY Terms & Conditions can be used to *acknowledge* age requirements for certain products but does not actively *verify* age like Lifter Age Check. It simply prompts the customer to acknowledge they meet the age requirement.
Which app is better for mobile users?
