Dataships Checkout Opt‑in vs RescueMyCart via Whatsapp, SMSfor Shopify (2026)
Dataships Checkout Opt‑in and RescueMyCart via Whatsapp, SMS both operate within the SMS marketing category on Shopify, but they target distinctly different aspects of customer engagement. Dataships focuses on optimizing checkout for email and SMS opt-ins, emphasizing compliance and dynamic consent management to build robust marketing lists. Their value proposition centers on growing revenue through enhanced retention, with features dedicated to converting more shoppers into subscribers while adhering to privacy regulations. Their ideal customer is likely a merchant focused on building a long-term, compliant marketing list. RescueMyCart, on the other hand, seems to be focused on cart recovery via Whatsapp and SMS, as indicated by its name. While detailed features are lacking, we can infer it is aimed at recovering lost sales by re-engaging customers who abandoned their carts. It aims to immediately recapture revenue, making it valuable for merchants wanting immediate sales uplift. Therefore, RescueMyCart would appeal to merchants looking for immediate improvements in revenue recovery, particularly those with an existing customer base and a focus on direct customer communication.

Our Verdict
If a merchant's priority is to build a compliant and substantial email and SMS marketing list from scratch, Dataships Checkout Opt‑in is the clear winner. Its dynamic consent features and focus on regional privacy regulations are invaluable for long-term growth and avoiding legal pitfalls. The Klaviyo integration suggests a robust ecosystem for managing subscribers and deploying targeted campaigns.
However, if the primary goal is to recapture lost revenue from abandoned carts quickly and directly via WhatsApp or SMS, RescueMyCart provides a more immediate solution. Although it lacks the detailed feature description of Dataships and has a significantly lower rating and fewer reviews, its dedicated focus on cart recovery offers targeted support for revenue recovery.
