DataChamp Order Export XLS/CSV vs DRINKS ASSUREfor Shopify (2026)
DataChamp Order Export XLS/CSV and DRINKS ASSURE, while both categorized under 'Finances' within the Shopify app store, cater to vastly different merchant needs. Our Verdict
The choice between DataChamp Order Export XLS/CSV and DRINKS ASSURE hinges entirely on the merchant's specific business. If the merchant sells alcohol, DRINKS ASSURE is the clear choice, offering specialized features crucial for compliance. The lack of a specialized alcohol compliance app could result in fines and legal issues.
For all other merchants, or alcohol retailers that already have alcohol compliance, DataChamp is likely the better option. Its flexibility in data extraction and reporting provides valuable insights and enables integration with other business systems. The larger number of reviews (66 vs. 14) also suggests a more established user base and wider applicability, although the perfect ratings for both indicate high satisfaction within their respective target audiences.
Common Questions
Can DataChamp handle alcohol tax calculations?
DataChamp can export order data, including potentially tax-related fields, but it does *not* offer built-in, real-time alcohol tax calculation or compliance features. This requires manual configuration and validation.
Does DRINKS ASSURE work for products other than alcohol?
DRINKS ASSURE is specifically designed for alcohol products and focuses on alcohol-related taxes and regulations. It's not intended for, and likely not suitable for, other product categories.
Which app is easier to set up and use?
DRINKS ASSURE's description emphasizing "set-it-and-forget" functionality suggests a simpler setup process compared to DataChamp, which involves customizing report layouts and selecting fields. However, ease of use depends on the user's familiarity with data analysis and compliance regulations, respectively.
What integrations do these apps offer?
DataChamp integrates with Google Drive, FTP, sFTP, Email, and Dropbox for automated data delivery. DRINKS ASSURE integrates with ShipCompliant for compliance and POS systems.
Which app provides better value for the price?
The 'value' is subjective and depends on the business needs. If you need to comply with alcohol tax regulations, DRINKS ASSURE is invaluable. If you require customizable data exports for analysis or integration, DataChamp is the more cost-effective solution. The price points of both apps were not provided, however, so relative cost is unknown.
