DailyStory Email and SMS vs Kindly: Payment Reminder Profor Shopify (2026)
DailyStory Email and SMS and Kindly: Payment Reminder Pro are both Shopify apps operating within the SMS marketing category, but they target distinct needs and offer vastly different feature sets. DailyStory aims to be a comprehensive email and SMS marketing automation platform, focusing on increasing conversions through automated follow-ups, segmentation, and personalized messaging across email and SMS channels. It positions itself as a tool for managing customer journeys and driving sales through a broad range of marketing activities, indicated by features like cart abandonment automations, shipping notifications, and audience segmentation. However, it suffers from a very low rating and minimal reviews. Kindly: Payment Reminder Pro, in contrast, seems to be a more specialized application focused specifically on payment reminders. Its high rating and substantial number of reviews suggest that it excels at this particular task. While it shares the SMS marketing category with DailyStory, its core value proposition revolves around recovering potentially lost revenue by reminding customers about pending payments. This makes it ideal for merchants experiencing issues with unpaid orders or wanting to proactively minimize payment-related revenue leakage. The app doesn't mention any email marketing features or complex customer segmentation capabilities.

Our Verdict
Choosing between DailyStory Email and SMS and Kindly: Payment Reminder Pro depends heavily on the specific needs of the Shopify merchant. If the goal is to implement a full-fledged email and SMS marketing automation system with features like cart abandonment recovery, shipping notifications, and customer segmentation, DailyStory aims to offer that functionality. However, its extremely low rating and limited reviews are a significant cause for concern, suggesting potential issues with usability, reliability, or customer support. Merchants should proceed with extreme caution.
On the other hand, if the primary goal is to streamline payment reminders and reduce the incidence of unpaid orders, Kindly: Payment Reminder Pro is the clear winner. Its perfect rating and substantial number of reviews indicate high user satisfaction and effective performance in its core area of focus. It's a specialized tool for a specific problem, and it seems to solve it well. Unless a merchant has a pressing need for a broad marketing automation platform and is willing to take a considerable risk with an unproven solution, Kindly is the safer and likely more effective choice.
Common Questions
Which app is better for cart abandonment recovery?
DailyStory Email and SMS explicitly mentions cart abandonment automation as a key feature. Kindly: Payment Reminder Pro does not. If cart abandonment recovery is the main goal, DailyStory is the *intended* solution, but its low rating is a major drawback.
Can Kindly: Payment Reminder Pro be used for general marketing messages?
Based on the provided information, Kindly: Payment Reminder Pro is designed specifically for payment reminders. It does not appear to support general marketing messages.
Is DailyStory Email and SMS easy to use?
DailyStory Email and SMS mentions drag-and-drop automations, suggesting a degree of visual ease. However, the complexity of building custom customer journeys might require some technical skill. The low rating suggests potential usability issues exist regardless.
Which app has better customer support?
The available data doesn't provide direct information on customer support quality for either app. However, the higher number of reviews and positive rating for Kindly: Payment Reminder Pro *might* suggest a better overall customer experience, including support.
If I only need to solve one problem, which app should I choose?
If the problem is unpaid orders, choose Kindly: Payment Reminder Pro. If the problem is a lack of broader marketing automation (and you're willing to take a risk), *consider* DailyStory Email and SMS, but investigate the negative reviews first.
