Crossborderit IOSS and DDP vs Finaloopfor Shopify (2026)
Crossborderit IOSS and DDP and Finaloop are both finance apps, but cater to very different needs within the Shopify ecosystem. Crossborderit focuses specifically on simplifying and automating the complexities of IOSS (Import One-Stop Shop) compliance for merchants shipping low-value goods to Europe. It aims to handle VAT reporting and payment, presenting a flat fee at checkout that can be passed on to customers. Finaloop, on the other hand, provides a comprehensive accounting solution, including bookkeeping, inventory management, and financial reporting, all powered by a team of expert accountants and real-time accounting software. The primary difference lies in their scope and focus. Crossborderit is highly specialized, tackling a specific regulatory hurdle for international sales. Finaloop offers a holistic approach to financial management, catering to merchants who need accurate, tax-ready financials, inventory tracking, and insights into their business performance. While both apps share the 'Finances' category on Shopify, their feature sets and target audiences barely overlap. The significant difference in ratings and the number of reviews also highlights the disparity in user satisfaction and market adoption.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with navigating the complexities of IOSS compliance for European sales, Crossborderit IOSS and DDP might seem appealing, but the extremely low rating is a major red flag that should warrant extreme caution, and careful review of recent feedback before considering it at all. It may require significant troubleshooting. On the other hand, if a merchant needs comprehensive accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting solutions, and prefers a service-based approach with expert support, Finaloop is the clearly superior choice, based on the provided information and significantly higher ratings.
Given the substantial difference in rating and the scope of services, most Shopify merchants would likely find Finaloop to be the more valuable and reliable investment for managing their finances. Only those with a very specific IOSS challenge and a willingness to potentially troubleshoot a problematic app should consider Crossborderit, while closely monitoring user reviews and support responsiveness.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use for someone with no accounting experience?
Finaloop is likely easier to use because it includes a team of expert accountants who manage the bookkeeping and financial reporting, reducing the burden on the merchant.
Does Crossborderit IOSS and DDP handle all aspects of international taxes?
Based on the description, it focuses primarily on IOSS compliance for European sales and VAT. It's unlikely to handle all international tax aspects.
Is Finaloop suitable for very small businesses with limited transactions?
Potentially, but its full-service accounting approach might be overkill for very small businesses. They should evaluate if the cost justifies the comprehensive features.
What happens if Crossborderit IOSS and DDP makes a mistake in VAT reporting?
The description mentions they 'pay tax authorities on your behalf and support you as an intermediary', but given the app's low rating, the reliability of this service may be questionable. It is crucial to check reviews related to accuracy and support in case of errors.
Can Finaloop integrate with other Shopify apps?
While the provided description doesn't explicitly mention integrations, accounting software typically integrates with various e-commerce platforms and tools. It is highly likely that Finaloop integrates with other essential Shopify apps such as payment gateways and marketing platforms. Further research would be needed to determine exact integrations.
