Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with minimizing risks associated with COD payments, particularly high instances of fraud or failed deliveries from specific customers, CODGuard might seem appealing despite its very low rating and single review. However, the lack of positive reviews and the existence of a much better-rated app with a similar function should give them pause. Progus COD (Cash on Delivery) is the better option for merchants looking to actively boost COD sales while retaining control and flexibility over who can use the payment method. Its focus on conversion optimization and smart COD rules makes it a more comprehensive solution for merchants who want to actively manage and grow their COD business while minimizing risks. Given the vast difference in ratings, user reviews, and feature sets, Progus COD is likely the superior choice for most merchants.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?
Based on the descriptions, CODGuard appears to be simpler to use due to its limited feature set. Progus COD, with its many options and customization features, might require more effort to set up initially, but offers more flexibility.
Which app is better for preventing fraudulent COD orders?
CODGuard's core functionality is to prevent risky transactions by disabling COD for specific customers. Progus COD addresses this indirectly through smart COD visibility rules based on location, cart value, or customer tags, but lacks specific individual customer blocking.
Which app is better for increasing COD sales?
Progus COD is specifically designed to increase COD sales with features like the 1-Click COD Order Form. CODGuard focuses on risk mitigation and does not offer features aimed at boosting sales.
Which app offers more flexibility and control over COD settings?
Progus COD provides significantly more flexibility and control over COD settings, allowing merchants to customize visibility based on various criteria like location, order value, customer tags, and products. CODGuard is limited to blocking individual customers.
What if I need to block a lot of individual customers from using COD?
While CODGuard allows this, it could become tedious to manage manually. Before using CODGuard, you should examine customer behaviour, tag the risky customers, and then apply the COD blocking, or use a different solution to find why you have so many high-risk COD customers.
