Our Verdict
Merchants experiencing significant issues with COD orders, particularly in India and Egypt, should strongly consider COD King. Its feature set is specifically designed to address these problems and can lead to immediate cost savings. Conversely, merchants selling to customers in regions with strict privacy regulations (like Europe and California) should prioritize Pandectes GDPR Compliance. The cost of non-compliance can be substantial, and Pandectes provides the necessary tools to navigate these complex legal requirements. Both apps are highly rated, but their very different focuses make them suitable for different needs.
Common Questions
Can COD King help me comply with GDPR?
COD King primarily focuses on reducing COD fraud and RTO/RTS. While it may involve collecting phone numbers for OTP verification, it is not designed to provide comprehensive GDPR compliance. You'll still need a dedicated GDPR compliance app like Pandectes.
Does Pandectes GDPR Compliance work for merchants only selling in the US?
Yes. While GDPR is a European regulation, Pandectes also supports CCPA/CPRA, which applies to California residents. Even if you only sell in the US, you may still need to comply with CCPA/CPRA.
Which app has more users?
Based on the review count, Pandectes GDPR Compliance has significantly more users than COD King‑COD Fees & OTP Verify (2255 reviews vs 560 reviews).
Are both apps easy to integrate into my Shopify store?
Both apps have high ratings, suggesting a good user experience. Pandectes highlights compatibility with Shopify Online Store 2.0 themes which may make for easier setup. However, ease of integration can also depend on your specific Shopify store setup and any existing apps you have installed.
If I only need OTP verification for COD orders, is Pandectes an option?
No. Pandectes GDPR Compliance does not offer OTP verification for COD orders. That's a key feature of COD King. If your primary need is OTP verification, COD King is the appropriate choice.
