Our Verdict
For merchants selling products where virtual try-on is beneficial (e.g., apparel, accessories, beauty), Camweara Virtual Try On is the better choice. Its broad product support and AR technology provide a more engaging customer experience. However, merchants focused on showcasing intricate product details in a 3D view should opt for Doly: your products in 3D. Its easy 3D scanning process and focus on photorealistic models make it ideal for home goods, electronics, and other products where detailed visual inspection is essential. Camweara appears more mature based on the review count, suggesting more real-world usage and refinement.
Common Questions
What happens if a customer doesn't have a compatible device for Camweara?
Camweara supports Android, iOS, and Windows devices, maximizing compatibility. However, customers without camera access or those using outdated devices might not be able to utilize the full AR experience. Photo mode allows some use even without live video.
Can Doly be used with professional product photos instead of scans?
Based on the description, Doly is designed around its iPhone scanning app. Using professional photos would likely require a different 3D modeling workflow, and Doly might not be suitable for that purpose without additional features.
Which app is easier to set up for my Shopify store?
Doly appears to offer a simpler setup process for merchants as it relies on scanning products with an iPhone and then embedding the 3D models. Camweara might require more initial configuration to ensure accurate virtual try-on experiences for each product. But Camweara may scale better once intially set up.
Does either app offer analytics to track the impact on sales and returns?
Neither app description explicitly mentions analytics features. It's crucial to contact the developers to confirm if they provide data on conversion rates, engagement metrics, or return reduction attributable to their apps.
Are there ongoing costs associated with using either app, beyond the initial installation fee (if any)?
The provided information does not specify pricing models. It is essential to check the app's pricing page on the Shopify App Store or contact the developers directly to understand subscription fees, usage limits, or any other recurring costs.
