Camouflage: Hide Sold Variants vs Image Size Chart Advancedfor Shopify (2026)
Camouflage: Hide Sold Variants and Image Size Chart Advanced both cater to Shopify merchants, but address vastly different needs relating to product presentation. Camouflage focuses on improving the customer experience by managing the visibility of product variants based on inventory and other criteria, preventing frustration when customers encounter sold-out items. Its strength lies in its flexibility, allowing merchants to hide, disable, or style sold-out variants, and even customize visibility based on location or customer tags. Image Size Chart Advanced, on the other hand, simplifies the process of providing size guides to customers, particularly relevant for apparel or product categories where sizing is critical. It allows merchants to upload pre-existing image-based size charts and display them in a user-friendly manner.

Our Verdict
Camouflage: Hide Sold Variants is the clear choice for merchants prioritizing a smooth shopping experience regarding product availability and variant management. Its ability to dynamically hide or style sold-out variants based on a multitude of conditions makes it suitable for stores with frequently changing inventory. Image Size Chart Advanced is best suited for merchants selling products, particularly apparel or footwear, where providing accurate size information is crucial. While both apps have positive ratings, Camouflage's significantly higher number of reviews suggests broader adoption and potentially greater trust within the Shopify community for its intended function.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Image Size Chart Advanced is likely easier to set up, as it mainly involves uploading existing image files. Camouflage, with its more extensive settings and conditional logic, may require more initial configuration.
Which app has better customer support?
Both apps highlight customer support. Image Size Chart Advanced mentions 24h response time specifically, which may be an indicator of good support. However, without specific support details from Camouflage, it's difficult to make a definitive comparison.
If I only have a few products, which app is more suitable?
If you only have a few products and sold-out variants are rare, Image Size Chart Advanced (if you sell products requiring sizing information) would likely provide more immediate value. The complexity of Camouflage might be unnecessary for a small catalog.
Can these apps be used together?
Yes, the apps address distinct problems. A merchant could use both to improve customer experience by hiding unavailable variants AND providing sizing information. No technical incompatibility mentioned in descriptions.
Does either app generate size charts?
No. Only 'Image Size Chart Advanced' is upfront about this, stating that it expects image charts to be provided. Camouflage does not address size charts.
