Camouflage: Hide Sold Variants vs EX Show Variants on Collectionfor Shopify (2026)
Camouflage: Hide Sold Variants and EX Show Variants on Collection both address product variant management on Shopify, but with different focuses. Camouflage centers around enhancing the customer experience by managing the visibility of unavailable variants. It allows merchants to hide, disable, or style sold-out options, preventing customer frustration. The description and features suggest Camouflage targets merchants looking for comprehensive control over variant display based on inventory levels, customer segments, and geographical locations, alongside general aesthetic customizations for sold-out variants. EX Show Variants on Collection, while sharing the 'Custom products' and 'Product variants' categories, has an unclear description from the prompt, focusing on showing Variants on Collection pages, presumably to enhance discoverability.

Our Verdict
Based on the information provided, Camouflage: Hide Sold Variants appears to be the stronger choice for merchants primarily concerned with preventing customer frustration related to sold-out variants. Its features related to conditional visibility and inventory-based control offer a more granular approach. EX Show Variants on Collection could be beneficial for merchants prioritizing discoverability within collection pages, especially those with many product variants; however, the lack of a detailed description makes this harder to confirm. If customer frustration and efficient inventory management are key priorities, Camouflage is the likely superior option.
