Our Verdict
For merchants seeking to implement a comprehensive 'shop the look' strategy with visual bundling and upsell opportunities, Byte Lookbook & Shop The Look is the superior choice. Its robust feature set allows for creating curated collections and driving AOV directly from product pages and other key areas of the store. The higher number of reviews suggests it's a more established and trusted solution for this specific purpose.
Conversely, if a merchant's primary goal is to leverage the power of video marketing to engage visitors and drive traffic from a prominent banner ad, Viddy: Clickable Video Banner offers a simpler and more direct solution. While Viddy has significantly fewer reviews, its focused functionality makes it suitable for merchants who prioritize easy-to-implement video engagement over complex product bundling strategies. Ultimately, the choice depends on the merchant's specific marketing and sales objectives.
Common Questions
What type of content creation effort is required for each app?
Byte Lookbook requires creating visually appealing lookbooks and curating product bundles, demanding more content creation effort. Viddy primarily requires a video asset and a destination URL, demanding less content creation effort upfront.
Which app is better for increasing average order value (AOV)?
Byte Lookbook is explicitly designed to increase AOV through product bundling and 'shop the look' experiences. Viddy contributes to AOV indirectly by driving traffic, but it lacks direct upselling capabilities.
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Viddy is likely easier to set up due to its focused functionality and design for Shopify 2.0 themes. Byte Lookbook, while no-code, requires configuring lookbooks and product bundles, potentially demanding more setup time.
Can both apps be used simultaneously?
Yes, both apps can be used simultaneously. Viddy can be used for initial storefront engagement, while Byte Lookbook can be used to enhance the product discovery and purchase experience.
Which app is better for a store with a limited product catalog?
