BS ‑ Better Shipping vs MyGLS Professionalfor Shopify (2026)
BS ‑ Better Shipping and MyGLS Professional serve distinctly different purposes within the Shopify ecosystem. Better Shipping focuses on providing merchants with granular control over shipping rate calculations, aiming to boost profitability through customization. Its strength lies in its flexible rules engine that allows for complex shipping scenarios, such as product-specific rates, zip code restrictions, and tiered pricing based on the number of items. This app is ideal for merchants who need precise control over their shipping costs and wish to offer varied shipping options based on product or location. MyGLS Professional, on the other hand, is a GLS (General Logistics Systems) integration app, designed to streamline shipping operations for merchants using GLS, especially those in Eastern Europe. It focuses on label creation, parcel shop integration, order tracking, and automation of GLS-related tasks. The core difference lies in their function: Better Shipping manipulates shipping *rates* shown to the customer, while MyGLS Professional focuses on *execution* of GLS shipping after the order is placed. Better Shipping empowers merchants to create complex shipping rules to present the best rates at checkout. MyGLS Professional assists in label printing, tracking, and integrating with GLS parcel shops. This means that the 'best' choice between these applications largely depends on the primary challenge a merchant faces: optimizing displayed shipping rates or streamlining GLS logistics.

Our Verdict
If your primary goal is to offer highly customized shipping rates based on product, location, or other criteria to optimize profitability, then BS ‑ Better Shipping is likely the better choice. It offers the flexibility to create complex rules for various shipping scenarios. However, if you are primarily using GLS as your shipping carrier, especially within Eastern Europe, and need a tool to streamline label creation, integrate with GLS parcel shops, and automate order tracking, then MyGLS Professional is the superior option. It provides a comprehensive all-in-one solution for GLS clients.
Essentially, choose Better Shipping to *control* the rates shown to customers, and choose MyGLS Professional to *manage* GLS shipping logistics. If your needs involve both rate control and GLS integration, you might need to consider using both apps in conjunction or seek a more comprehensive shipping solution.
