Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing proactive marketing and on-site announcements to drive immediate sales, B&S ‑ Announcement Bar is the better choice, particularly if a visually engaging banner strategy aligns with their brand. However, the very low review count suggests it's a relatively new or less widely adopted app, requiring caution. ES Back in Stock Notify Me! is ideal for merchants frequently facing out-of-stock situations and seeking to recapture lost sales. The significantly higher review count suggests a more established and reliable solution, and the AI-powered automation minimizes manual effort. While B&S has a higher rating, the limited number of reviews make the ES Back in Stock Notify Me! the more confident recommendation for the average Shopify merchant in 2026.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?
Based on the descriptions, B&S ‑ Announcement Bar seems straightforward with its clear interface and customizable font, color, size and banner placement. ES Back in Stock Notify Me! mentions easy customization of templates and widgets, along with quick setup. Both prioritize ease of use but the complexity of AI suggests a steeper initial learning curve for ES Back in Stock Notify Me! despite a better support system.
Which app is better for boosting sales?
B&S ‑ Announcement Bar directly aims to boost sales by highlighting promotions and news through banners. ES Back in Stock Notify Me! indirectly boosts sales by recovering lost revenue from out-of-stock items. The 'best' depends on the merchant's primary challenge: low website visibility/engagement versus frequent stockouts.
Does ES Back in Stock Notify Me! work with all Shopify themes?
The description mentions native product page sections for Online Store 2.0 themes, implying that full integration might be smoother with OS 2.0. However, the customizable widgets suggest compatibility with other themes as well, though with potential integration adjustments. Further information would be required from the app developer to confirm this explicitly. ES Back in Stock Notify Me!'s website would be a better source of truth for this.
Does B&S ‑ Announcement Bar offer analytics?
The provided description of B&S ‑ Announcement Bar does not mention analytics capabilities. This means it may lack built-in features to track banner performance, requiring merchants to rely on third-party analytics tools to measure effectiveness, if available.
Which app has better customer support?
ES Back in Stock Notify Me! explicitly mentions 24/7 live chat support, indicating a strong commitment to customer assistance. B&S ‑ Announcement Bar does not mention any specific support options, which may suggest limited or less readily available support.
