Boxify vs Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZipfor Shopify (2026)
Boxify and Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip both address shipping rate challenges on Shopify, but they cater to different merchant needs. Boxify focuses on accurate carrier-calculated rates based on package dimensions, making it ideal for merchants who ship products of varying sizes and want to leverage existing carrier relationships. It uses product and box dimensions to determine the optimal packing configuration and then pulls rates from major carriers like UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL Express, and Canada Post. Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip, on the other hand, provides advanced shipping rules and custom rate calculations. It's designed for merchants who need granular control over their shipping rates based on factors like product attributes (SKU, tags, vendor), customer location (zip codes, distance), and order parameters (weight, quantity). It supports more complex scenarios, including local delivery, store pickup, and delivery date scheduling. The app empowers merchants to create very specific shipping rules tailored to niche product categories or customer segments. Because ShipZip requires Carrier Calculated Shipping API, merchants on lower-tier Shopify plans may not have access to use it.

Our Verdict
If your primary concern is obtaining accurate, carrier-calculated rates based on the size and weight of the products and packaging, Boxify is the better choice. It automates the complex process of determining the optimal box size and retrieving accurate rates from major carriers. This is especially valuable if you have a diverse product catalog with varying dimensions.
However, if you need fine-grained control over shipping rates based on factors beyond just weight and dimensions, such as product tags, zip codes, or delivery dates, then Shipping & Delivery ‑ ShipZip is the superior option. Its advanced shipping rules and local delivery features provide the flexibility to create highly customized shipping strategies. Note that ShipZip's dependence on the Carrier Calculated Shipping API makes it accessible only to merchants on certain Shopify plans. Also, the higher review count and rating might suggest a more robust or stable feature set.
