BLOY Rewards Program & Loyalty vs Doppelgangerfor Shopify (2026)
BLOY Rewards Program & Loyalty and Doppelganger, while both categorized under 'Customer loyalty' in the Shopify App Store, address drastically different aspects of customer relationship management. BLOY focuses on proactive loyalty program creation and management, offering features like points systems, VIP tiers, referral rewards, and 24/7 support to drive repeat purchases and increase customer lifetime value. Its strengths lie in its comprehensive suite of loyalty-building tools and high user rating, indicating a positive user experience. Doppelganger, on the other hand, tackles the more niche but crucial issue of duplicate customer accounts. Its primary function is to identify, link, and merge these accounts to provide a more accurate view of Customer Lifetime Value (CLV). This is particularly useful for businesses dealing with multiple sales channels (e.g., online and POS) or customers using different email addresses. Its strength is its targeted solution for a specific data integrity problem, but its low rating and small number of reviews suggest potential usability issues or limited functionality compared to BLOY.

Our Verdict
BLOY Rewards Program & Loyalty is the clear choice for merchants actively seeking to build and manage a comprehensive loyalty program. Its high rating, numerous positive reviews, and extensive feature set make it a robust solution for driving customer retention and repeat purchases. It's ideal for businesses of all sizes wanting to incentivize customer behavior.
Doppelganger is best suited for merchants who recognize a significant problem with duplicate customer accounts and are primarily concerned with obtaining an accurate Customer Lifetime Value. While its feature set is limited, it addresses a specific pain point. However, due to its low rating and few reviews, merchants should proceed with caution and thoroughly evaluate its usability and effectiveness before committing.
Common Questions
Which app is better for increasing customer retention?
BLOY Rewards Program & Loyalty is specifically designed for increasing customer retention through loyalty programs. Doppelganger focuses on data accuracy, which indirectly supports retention by improving customer understanding, but BLOY offers direct retention-focused features.
Which app is easier to use?
Based on the ratings and features, BLOY Rewards Program & Loyalty is likely easier to use. Its higher rating suggests a more user-friendly interface and more comprehensive support resources. Doppelganger's data-merging functionality might introduce complexities.
Which app is better for businesses with both online and offline sales?
Doppelganger may be particularly valuable for businesses with both online and offline sales, as duplicate accounts are more common across multiple sales channels. BLOY can also integrate with POS systems, but Doppelganger's core function directly addresses the multi-channel account issue.
Which app should I choose if I only have a small number of customers?
If you only have a small number of customers, the need for a full-fledged loyalty program (BLOY) might be less pressing than ensuring your existing customer data is accurate. If you suspect duplicate accounts are skewing your CLV, Doppelganger might be worth investigating. However, BLOY can be a valuable tool for growing your existing customer base through incentivization.
