Blocky Fraud Filter IP Blocker vs Translate Language Auto • EAfor Shopify (2026)
Blocky Fraud Filter IP Blocker and Translate Language Auto • EA are Shopify apps targeting entirely different needs of merchants. Blocky focuses on security and fraud prevention, allowing merchants to block unwanted traffic based on email, phone number, IP address, country, and VPN/Proxy usage. Its key strength lies in its bot blocking capabilities and geolocation-based filtering, aiming to protect stores from fraud, DMCA claims, and unwanted traffic, particularly during peak sales periods. It also provides visitor analytics, offering insights into traffic sources and user behavior. Translate Language Auto • EA, on the other hand, addresses the need for multilingual storefronts. It leverages Google Translate to automatically translate the entire store into over 240 languages based on the customer's browser settings. The app prides itself on its ease of setup and unlimited usage, requiring no manual translation work from the merchant. Its strength lies in simplifying the process of reaching a global audience by removing language barriers. Both apps share the 'Geolocation' category, but Blocky uses it for blocking and redirecting visitors, while Translate Language Auto uses it to automatically detect and set the language for the user, thus making them very different from each other.

Our Verdict
The choice between Blocky Fraud Filter IP Blocker and Translate Language Auto • EA depends entirely on the merchant's priorities. If security and fraud prevention are paramount, especially for stores dealing with high-risk products or experiencing significant bot traffic, Blocky is the clear choice. Its granular blocking capabilities and traffic insights offer valuable protection. On the other hand, if the primary goal is to expand into international markets and provide a seamless experience for customers in different languages, Translate Language Auto • EA is the better option. Its effortless setup and automatic translation features make it easy to cater to a global audience, without requiring manual translation efforts.
While Translate Language Auto • EA has a perfect rating, the lower number of reviews compared to Blocky suggests it may be newer or have a smaller user base. Merchants should consider this factor, along with their specific needs, when making their decision. A store primarily serving a local market might not need Translate Language Auto • EA, while a store with high fraudulent activity would significantly benefit from Blocky.
