Blockify Fraud Filter, Blocker vs Chargeflow Dispute Chargebacksfor Shopify (2026)
Blockify Fraud Filter & Blocker and Chargeflow Dispute Chargebacks both aim to protect Shopify merchants from fraud, but they approach the problem from different angles. Blockify focuses on proactive fraud prevention by blocking suspicious activity based on IP addresses, geolocation, bot behavior, and proxy/VPN usage. It aims to prevent fraudulent orders from being placed in the first place, offering tools like country blocking and visitor analytics for risk assessment. Chargeflow, on the other hand, centers on chargeback management, offering both prevention and recovery solutions. Its strength lies in its AI-powered chargeback evidence submission and automation, helping merchants recover funds from fraudulent transactions and friendly fraud. Blockify appears to be a more general-purpose fraud prevention tool, suitable for merchants concerned about various types of malicious activity, including bots, content scraping, and international fraud. Chargeflow is highly specialized in chargeback management, appealing to merchants who experience a significant volume of chargebacks and are looking for an automated solution to deflect and recover lost revenue. While Blockify focuses on stopping fraud before it happens, Chargeflow focuses on mitigating the damage after a fraudulent transaction occurs and preemptively preventing them.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with preventing fraudulent orders from ever occurring, especially those targeting specific countries or experiencing bot attacks, Blockify Fraud Filter & Blocker is the stronger choice. Its IP and country blocking capabilities offer granular control over who can access the store. However, for merchants struggling with a high volume of chargebacks and seeking an automated solution to dispute and recover funds, Chargeflow Dispute Chargebacks is the more suitable option. Chargeflow's AI-powered chargeback management system can significantly reduce the administrative burden associated with disputing chargebacks and improve the chances of winning those disputes. A merchant significantly targeted by bot traffic would benefit more from Blockify. A merchant seeing increased chargeback claims would benefit more from Chargeflow.
Common Questions
Which app is better for preventing international fraud?
Blockify is better suited for preventing international fraud due to its country blocking and geolocation redirect features. This allows merchants to restrict access or redirect visitors from specific countries known for fraudulent activity.
Which app is easier to use for merchants with limited technical expertise?
Chargeflow likely has a simpler onboarding process and ongoing management, given its emphasis on automation and AI-powered dispute evidence. Blockify may require more manual configuration and monitoring of rules to effectively block unwanted traffic.
Does Blockify offer chargeback recovery features?
While Blockify helps prevent fraudulent orders, it doesn't explicitly offer features focused on chargeback *recovery* like Chargeflow. It focuses on fraud prevention to ideally reduce future chargebacks, but won't actively fight existing ones.
Does Chargeflow block IPs or countries?
Chargeflow's description doesn't mention IP or country blocking. Its focus is on chargeback prevention and recovery, not proactive blocking of suspicious traffic sources. Its prevention features use the network of other merchants to inform its analysis.
Which app is more cost-effective for a small business with a low volume of orders?
It would depend on the pricing structure of each app (which isn't provided). However, Blockify's blocking and filtering might offer more value if fraudulent orders are a rare occurrence, as it may prevent the need for chargeback disputes altogether. Chargeflow might be overkill if chargebacks are infrequent.
