Our Verdict
BackupMaster: Backup & Copy is the superior choice for merchants seeking comprehensive data protection, store duplication capabilities, and enterprise-grade security with SOC 2 certification. Its ability to back up the entire store, including products, orders, and metafields, ensures a complete safety net. The store duplication feature also gives BackupMaster an edge for staging and testing purposes.
ThemeWatch ‑ Theme Backup Tool is better suited for merchants primarily concerned with theme customization and version control. Its asset change tracking feature and easier restoration of individual theme assets make it a valuable tool for theme-centric workflows. However, it lacks the broad scope and security of BackupMaster, making it less ideal for merchants needing comprehensive store protection.
