Backup Labs vs Cavalierfor Shopify (2026)
Backup Labs and Cavalier are both Shopify apps positioned within the 'Security - Other' category, but they address vastly different security concerns. Our Verdict
For most Shopify merchants concerned about data loss and wanting a simple solution for backups and store duplication, Backup Labs is the clear choice. Its positive reviews, ease of use, and focus on data security provide a solid foundation. The secure data storage location in Switzerland is an added bonus for merchants requiring high levels of data protection.
However, if a merchant's primary concern is the risk of compromised employee or user credentials and potential unauthorized access, Cavalier might be a valuable addition, provided they are willing to integrate with the Cavalier Web App and actively monitor notifications. Given the lack of reviews for Cavalier, merchants should carefully consider their specific security needs and potentially look for additional user feedback before committing to this app. In its current state, Backup Labs is the more reliable and widely applicable security solution for the average Shopify merchant.
