Back In Stock,Notify Me: Kbite and Loyal • Customer Segments are both Shopify apps operating in the 'Marketing - Other' category, but they address entirely different merchant needs. Back In Stock focuses on recovering lost sales by notifying customers when out-of-stock items become available again. This app helps capture demand and prevent customers from seeking alternatives. Loyal • Customer Segments, on the other hand, aims to improve customer retention and drive sales through targeted marketing by segmenting customers based on their loyalty and purchase behavior. It integrates with tools like Klaviyo to enable personalized email campaigns. The primary difference lies in their core functionality: Back In Stock is about minimizing lost sales due to inventory shortages, while Loyal • Customer Segments is about optimizing marketing efforts for improved customer retention and engagement. Back In Stock likely provides a simple, easily integrated solution for a very specific problem. Loyal • Customer Segments, though targeting a wider aim of customer retention, likely requires a deeper commitment from the merchant to integrate with Klaviyo and actively develop and manage marketing campaigns. Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with recapturing sales lost due to stockouts, Back In Stock, Notify Me: Kbite is the clear choice. Its straightforward functionality and high number of positive reviews suggest a reliable and easy-to-use solution. Conversely, Loyal • Customer Segments is better suited for merchants with a strong emphasis on customer relationship management (CRM) and personalized marketing, and who are already using or planning to use platforms like Klaviyo. It offers a more comprehensive approach to customer engagement, albeit with a likely steeper learning curve and more active management required.
Given the vast difference in the number of reviews, Back In Stock appears to be a more established and widely used app as of 2026. However, if a merchant is committed to leveraging customer data for targeted marketing campaigns, Loyal • Customer Segments may offer significant long-term value, provided they are willing to invest the time and resources needed to utilize its features effectively.
