AW Store Locator vs SparkPlugfor Shopify (2026)
AW Store Locator and SparkPlug are both Shopify apps targeting merchants who sell in person, but they address fundamentally different business needs. AW Store Locator is designed to enhance the customer experience by facilitating the discovery of physical store locations. Its core value proposition lies in making it easier for customers to find and visit brick-and-mortar stores. Features such as unlimited store locations, customizable maps, and auto-detection of location are centered around improving store accessibility and driving foot traffic. In contrast, SparkPlug focuses on internal operations, specifically motivating and incentivizing employees to boost sales performance. SparkPlug aims to improve employee engagement and drive revenue by automating sales contests, commissions, and goal tracking. The app emphasizes easy integration with Shopify POS and SMS communication to facilitate employee participation. The key difference is that AW Store Locator is about connecting customers with store locations, while SparkPlug is about motivating employees to enhance sales. The lack of reviews and a zero rating for SparkPlug are significant considerations, while AW Store Locator boasts a perfect rating and 36 reviews. This suggests a need for cautious evaluation of SparkPlug.

Our Verdict
For merchants with multiple physical store locations looking to improve the customer's ability to find their stores, AW Store Locator appears to be the superior choice. The app has a perfect rating with 36 reviews, indicating positive user experiences. Its features such as auto-detect location and unlimited store locations cater directly to this need.
SparkPlug, while promising to improve employee motivation and sales, lacks any reviews or ratings, making it a riskier proposition. Businesses considering SparkPlug should thoroughly vet the app and potentially contact the developers for a trial or demonstration. Given the current data, AW Store Locator is the safer and more reliable option for merchants looking to improve their store locator functionality.

What are the potential risks of using SparkPlug given its lack of reviews?

Can AW Store Locator be used to show the location of authorized dealers?
Yes, the headline explicitly states that the app can show dealer's stores on one page, making it well-suited for businesses with dealer networks.
