AW Store Locator vs POS Module RKSVfor Shopify (2026)
AW Store Locator and POS Module RKSV, while both listed under the 'Selling in person' Shopify category, cater to vastly different needs. AW Store Locator focuses on enhancing the customer experience by providing store location and discovery functionalities, targeting merchants with physical stores or dealer networks. It allows for easy management of multiple locations, customizable map styles, and automatic location detection. In contrast, POS Module RKSV is a highly specific, regulatory-focused app designed to ensure POS compliance with Austrian financial regulations (RKSV), enabling secure signing of POS receipts and QR code generation for Finanz Online. AW Store Locator's strength lies in its broad applicability for merchants seeking to improve their store discoverability and foot traffic. Its customizable features and unlimited store location support make it suitable for businesses of varying sizes. POS Module RKSV, on the other hand, is a niche solution tailored exclusively for Austrian merchants needing to comply with RKSV regulations. Its value proposition centers around ease of compliance, digital receipt management, and dedicated support in German, ensuring seamless integration with Shopify POS systems within the Austrian legal framework. The number of reviews suggests AW Store Locator is a more mature app, but this does not necessarily mean it is superior to POS Module RKSV for a specific niche.

Its flexibility, unlimited location support, and customizable features make it a versatile solution for various business sizes. However, for Austrian merchants operating Shopify POS and requiring compliance with RKSV regulations, POS Module RKSV is the essential application. Its features are specifically designed to meet Austrian legal requirements, making it an indispensable tool for businesses in that region. There is no overlap in functionality; one is for store discoverability, the other for legal compliance in Austria.
