Auglio Cosmetics Try‑On vs DPO Dynamic Product Optionsfor Shopify (2026)
Auglio Cosmetics Try-On and DPO Dynamic Product Options address fundamentally different needs for Shopify merchants. Auglio focuses on enhancing the beauty product shopping experience with augmented reality (AR) try-on functionality. It aims to increase engagement, sales, and customer confidence by allowing shoppers to virtually see how cosmetics look on their faces. Its strength lies in its specific targeting of cosmetic brands seeking to leverage interactive AR technology. On the other hand, DPO Dynamic Product Options offers broad customization for product variants. DPO Dynamic Product Options, as its name suggests, allows merchants to offer customers a wider array of choices and customizations for products beyond simple color or size variations. The app enables intricate product personalization, making it suitable for shops selling configurable or build-to-order goods. While both apps have perfect ratings, DPO Dynamic Product Options has significantly more reviews, which lends more weight to its positive rating. Auglio, while offering a visually engaging solution, may appeal to a smaller, niche market. DPO is aimed at businesses that require robust and customizable product options. Auglio is aimed at merchants in the cosmetics industry seeking to improve conversion and decrease returns.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants selling cosmetic products, Auglio Cosmetics Try-On offers a unique AR experience that can potentially boost sales and reduce returns by allowing customers to virtually try on makeup. However, the very limited number of reviews (2) makes this a riskier choice. For stores needing flexible product variants and customization options beyond simple color/size variations, DPO Dynamic Product Options is the clear winner due to its high rating from a large pool of reviews.
If your business doesn't involve cosmetic try-ons, DPO is the obvious choice. If you are a cosmetics retailer prepared to take a risk on new tech for a first-mover advantage, Auglio might be worth exploring.
Common Questions
Which app is better for reducing returns?
Auglio Cosmetics Try-On directly addresses returns by allowing virtual try-ons, helping customers choose the right shade. DPO indirectly affects returns by ensuring customers get the correct configuration, reducing errors due to customization requests.
Is either app difficult to integrate?
Auglio states it's easy to integrate without coding skills. DPO's integration difficulty is not explicitly stated. More advanced features would be expected from its product variant nature, however, requiring additional configuration.
Which app is better for non-cosmetic products?
DPO Dynamic Product Options is designed for a wide range of product customizations, making it better suited for non-cosmetic products requiring complex configuration.
Does either app provide analytics to track performance?
The descriptions provided do not explicitly state whether either app provides analytics or performance tracking. You would need to check their specific documentation for features.
If I sell both cosmetics and customizable products, which app should I choose?
If both are significant parts of your business, you might consider using both apps. Auglio for cosmetics, and DPO for other customizable products. If budget is a concern, prioritize based on which product category drives the most revenue or has the highest return rate.
