Auction Today vs DPO Dynamic Product Optionsfor Shopify (2026)
Auction Today and DPO Dynamic Product Options both fall under the 'Pricing' and 'Pricing quotes' Shopify categories, but serve fundamentally different purposes. Auction Today focuses on enabling merchants to run auctions directly on their product pages, aiming to increase sales and create a sense of urgency. Its target audience are merchants looking to leverage the excitement of auctions to boost revenue, particularly for unique or limited-edition items. DPO Dynamic Product Options, on the other hand (though described with far less detail), presumably focuses on allowing for customized product configurations and perhaps pricing based on those configurations. This positions it for a potentially larger market of businesses needing more sophisticated product customization options. Given the absence of detailed features for DPO Dynamic Product Options, it's difficult to make a direct feature by feature comparison beyond ratings and reviews.

Our Verdict
Auction Today is the clear choice for merchants who want to introduce auctions into their Shopify store. Its features, like reserve price, buy-out price, and automatic bidding, are designed to facilitate a seamless and engaging auction experience. The high rating and substantial number of reviews suggest a reliable and well-received app. DPO Dynamic Product Options may be suitable for merchants requiring complex product configurations and pricing options, however the limited data on its functionality makes it difficult to recommend without further information. If a business’s primary goal is hosting auctions, Auction Today is the far more suitable choice.
