Appsyl's Bestseller Sorting vs Magical XML/HTML Sitemapfor Shopify (2026)
Appsyl's Bestseller Sorting and Magical XML/HTML Sitemap, while both in the 'Search and navigation' category, address fundamentally different needs. Appsyl's Bestseller Sorting focuses on competitive advantage and protecting sales data by disabling the 'bestselling' sort option on a Shopify store. It aims to prevent competitors and dropshippers from identifying and potentially replicating a store's successful products. In contrast, Magical XML/HTML Sitemap is a search engine optimization (SEO) tool designed to improve site navigation and visibility on Google through customizable sitemaps. Appsyl's Bestseller Sorting is marketed towards stores, especially AliExpress dropshippers, concerned about competitors copying their product selections. Its key selling point is its simplicity, offering one-click protection. Magical XML/HTML Sitemap targets merchants looking to improve their SEO and site usability, providing features like customizable HTML sitemaps, XML sitemap linking with Google, and automatic content updates. The dramatic difference in review count suggests that Magical XML/HTML Sitemap has a much larger and likely more satisfied user base, whereas Appsyl's Bestseller Sorting's extremely low review count should be a cause for concern.

Our Verdict
The choice between these two apps depends entirely on the merchant's primary need. If the biggest concern is preventing competitors from identifying top-selling products, particularly within a dropshipping context, Appsyl's Bestseller Sorting may be a suitable, albeit risky due to the lack of reviews, option. However, for merchants prioritizing SEO, site usability, and improved search engine rankings, Magical XML/HTML Sitemap is the clear winner. Its higher rating and significantly larger number of reviews suggest a more reliable and effective solution. Furthermore, the long-term benefits of improved SEO will likely outweigh the immediate, potentially limited, benefits of hiding bestseller data.
Given the discrepancy in reviews and the focus on a very niche competitive concern, proceeding with Appsyl's Bestseller Sorting is risky. Consider carefully before choosing an app with so little public validation.
