AppsByB: WooCommerce Importer vs Kopia ‑ Import & Copy Productsfor Shopify (2026)
AppsByB: WooCommerce Importer and Kopia ‑ Import & Copy Products serve distinct purposes within the Shopify ecosystem, despite both falling under the 'Store data importer' category. AppsByB focuses on comprehensive migration from WooCommerce to Shopify, emphasizing data integrity and SEO preservation. Its target audience is merchants replatforming from WooCommerce who need to move their entire store – including products, orders, customers, and blog posts – to Shopify without losing search engine rankings. Kopia, conversely, is designed for merchants already on Shopify seeking to quickly duplicate or clone products within their store or, hypothetically in the future (given AI translate capabilities), build out multi-language product listings. The AppsByB importer differentiates itself through its demo migration capability, flexible order import options, and WordPress blog post migration to Shopify articles. It caters to more complex migration scenarios, guaranteeing SEO-friendly URL redirects. Kopia prioritizes simplicity and speed in duplicating products, featuring one-click copying and unlimited imports. It explicitly warns users against copying without permission, highlighting its focus on internal duplication or potentially ethically-sourced content. Its future AI translation capabilities could further enhance its value proposition for international expansion, assuming usage rights are upheld.

Our Verdict
For merchants migrating from WooCommerce to Shopify and needing a comprehensive solution that transfers all their data while preserving SEO, AppsByB: WooCommerce Importer is the clear choice. The availability of a demo migration allows for risk-free testing before committing to the full migration. Kopia ‑ Import & Copy Products, with its zero reviews and zero rating is a risky choice and should be avoided in its current state. If it had reviews and a higher rating, it would primarily be suitable for Shopify merchants looking to quickly duplicate products within their store, particularly for creating variations or populating new collections. It is imperative that users understand that KOPIA strictly prohibits copying products without permission. If this app gains traction and improves its reputation, it could be useful for legitimate internal duplication tasks.
Common Questions
Which app is better for migrating from WooCommerce?
AppsByB: WooCommerce Importer is specifically designed for migrating from WooCommerce to Shopify. Kopia is not suitable for this purpose.
Does AppsByB preserve SEO rankings during migration?
Yes, AppsByB creates SEO-friendly URL redirects to maintain search rankings during the WooCommerce to Shopify migration.
Can Kopia be used to import products from other Shopify stores?
While the app's description mentions copying products, it explicitly warns against copying without permission from the rights holder. Using it to directly import from another Shopify store would likely violate these terms unless you own both stores.
Which app is easier to use for simple product duplication?
Hypothetically, if Kopia's rating improves with positive reviews and adoption, then it should be more straightforward for simply duplicating products on the same Shopify store. AppsByB is more focused on full platform migrations, so it would be overkill for basic product duplication.
Are there any risks associated with using Kopia to copy products?
Yes, Kopia explicitly prohibits copying products, collections, or content without the rights holder's explicit permission. Doing so could lead to legal issues and is a violation of the app's terms of service.
