Amplius Customer Fields vs Froonze VIP Loyalty & Wishlistfor Shopify (2026)
Amplius Customer Fields and Froonze VIP Loyalty & Wishlist cater to vastly different needs within the Shopify ecosystem. Amplius Customer Fields focuses on enhancing data collection and customer profiling by allowing merchants to add custom fields to registration and account pages, saving data directly into Shopify metafields. This provides granular control over customer data and streamlines personalization efforts. In contrast, Froonze VIP Loyalty & Wishlist aims to boost sales and customer engagement through loyalty programs, wishlists, and an enhanced customer dashboard. It features loyalty points, VIP tiers, referrals, and integrates with Shopify's native store credit system for cashback programs. The core difference lies in their purpose. Amplius is geared towards collecting richer customer data for personalization and internal use, emphasizing data ownership and portability. Froonze, on the other hand, is designed to incentivize customer loyalty and drive sales through rewards and engagement features. While both apps touch upon customer interaction, their functionalities and target audiences are distinct. Froonze also offers Custom Forms and Enhanced Customer Dashboards (paid separately) so there is potential for some overlap.

Our Verdict
If your primary goal is to gather comprehensive customer data for personalized experiences and internal analysis, Amplius Customer Fields is the clear choice. Its integration with Shopify metafields ensures data ownership and compatibility with other apps. However, if your focus is on boosting sales through loyalty programs, rewards, and wishlists, Froonze VIP Loyalty & Wishlist offers a more robust suite of features. Its higher rating and significantly larger number of reviews suggest greater user satisfaction and potentially a more mature product, though the relevance to Amplius' functionality should be considered.
Ultimately, the best app depends on your specific business needs. A merchant heavily invested in personalization through customer segmentation and targeted marketing would likely benefit more from Amplius. A merchant prioritizing customer retention and increased order value would likely be better served by Froonze. Larger merchants might find the addon Custom Forms in Froonze as a competitor to Amplius.
Common Questions
Which app is better for data ownership and portability?
Amplius Customer Fields is superior for data ownership and portability because it saves customer data directly in Shopify metafields. This allows you to retain full control of your data and easily share it with other apps, even if you uninstall Amplius.
Which app is easier to set up?
Both apps claim easy setup. Amplius states 'simple setup - add forms to your theme with just a few clicks' while Froonze states 'Setup in minutes'. Without further information, it is difficult to determine definitively which is easier, but both suggest a quick and straightforward installation process.
Which app is more focused on driving sales?
Froonze VIP Loyalty & Wishlist is explicitly focused on driving sales through loyalty programs, wishlists, and customer engagement features like loyalty points and rewards. It is designed to incentivize repeat purchases and increase customer lifetime value.
Can Froonze collect custom customer information, similar to Amplius?
Froonze offers 'Custom Forms', but this functionality is a paid add-on. If you require extensive custom data collection, consider the cost of the add-on in Froonze compared to Amplius' core functionality.
Which app has more social proof?
Froonze VIP Loyalty & Wishlist has significantly more social proof, with 213 reviews and a perfect 5/5 rating compared to Amplius Customer Fields' 13 reviews and a 4.6/5 rating. However, the lower review count of Amplius doesn't necessarily indicate a worse product, just less widespread adoption and potential for more variance in feedback.
