AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer vs TnC: Terms and Conditions Boxfor Shopify (2026)
AMP ‑ Slide Cart Drawer and TnC: Terms and Conditions Box, while both listed under Shopify's 'Checkout' and 'Cart customization' categories, serve fundamentally different purposes. AMP focuses on enhancing the shopping experience by providing a visually appealing and easily accessible cart drawer. Its primary goal is to encourage customers to complete their purchases by streamlining the checkout process with a user-friendly interface. TnC, on the other hand, prioritizes legal compliance and risk mitigation by ensuring customers explicitly agree to store policies before making a purchase. It addresses the critical need for verifiable consent to protect merchants from chargebacks and legal liabilities related to terms of service, privacy policies, and other contractual agreements. AMP caters to merchants who want to optimize their cart functionality and improve the overall user experience, aiming to increase conversion rates through aesthetic design and convenient access to cart contents. TnC targets merchants who prioritize legal protection and customer trust, especially those dealing with sensitive information, operating in regulated industries, or simply seeking to minimize the risk of disputes and chargebacks related to unmet customer expectations. While AMP aims for a smoother purchase process, TnC focuses on legally sound consent and liability protection.
