Alumify: Weigh it vs Progus Store Locator Mapfor Shopify (2026)
Alumify: Weigh it and Progus Store Locator Map are both 5-star rated Shopify apps, but they cater to fundamentally different merchant needs within the "Selling in person" category. Alumify focuses on enabling merchants to sell products by weight directly within Shopify POS, streamlining the in-person sales process for businesses like grocery stores, butcher shops, and hardware stores. Its core value proposition lies in its simplicity and seamless integration with Shopify POS, allowing merchants to quickly and easily manage weight-based product sales without requiring specialized hardware like integrated scales. Progus Store Locator Map, on the other hand, helps customers find the merchant's physical locations. Its strength lies in its customizable map interface, advanced analytics, and multilingual support, making it suitable for businesses with multiple physical stores or dealer networks who want to improve in-store sales and reduce customer support inquiries related to store locations. Unlike Alumify, Progus doesn't directly impact the point-of-sale process; instead, it enhances the customer's pre-purchase experience by making it easier to find and visit physical locations.

Our Verdict
Alumify: Weigh it is the clear choice for merchants who need to sell products by weight directly within their Shopify POS system. Its simplicity and tight integration with the POS make it a valuable tool for businesses in industries such as grocery, hardware, and butcher shops. If your business *doesn't* sell by weight in person, Alumify provides no value.
Progus Store Locator Map is best suited for businesses with physical store locations or dealer networks who want to improve the customer experience by making it easy to find their stores and track customer interest. If you don't have brick and mortar locations, this app is not useful to you.
