AirLock ‑ GeoShield & IP Block vs WeTech‑Dispute Resolutionfor Shopify (2026)
AirLock ‑ GeoShield & IP Block and WeTech‑Dispute Resolution both target fraud prevention for Shopify merchants, but they address fundamentally different aspects. AirLock focuses on proactive fraud prevention by blocking unwanted visitors based on IP address and country, offering a level of control over who accesses the store. It positions itself as a robust shield against IP-based threats, providing features like AI-enhanced blocking, real-time visitor logs, and even checkout protection for Shopify Plus users. Its core strength lies in preemptively preventing fraudulent activity. WeTech‑Dispute Resolution, on the other hand, concentrates on reactive fraud mitigation. It aims to reduce chargeback rates and enhance user satisfaction by cooperating with Mastercard/Ethoca and Visa to provide real-time dispute alerts and auto-refund options. Its key strength lies in resolving disputes quickly and efficiently, potentially avoiding lengthy chargeback processes and negative impacts on dispute ratios with payment processors. However, its lack of ratings and reviews suggests a relatively new or untested app compared to AirLock.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing proactive fraud prevention and control over who accesses their store, particularly those experiencing issues with international traffic or bot activity, AirLock ‑ GeoShield & IP Block is the better choice. The ability to block specific IPs and countries, coupled with AI-enhanced detection, provides a significant level of security. It also caters specifically to Shopify Plus users with enhanced checkout protection.
However, merchants facing high chargeback rates and seeking a solution to streamline dispute resolution should consider WeTech‑Dispute Resolution. Its integrations with Mastercard/Ethoca and Visa offer the potential to significantly reduce chargeback penalties and improve customer satisfaction through quick refunds and alerts. However, the lack of reviews poses a risk, and merchants should proceed cautiously, potentially seeking a trial or further information before committing.
Common Questions
What type of fraud does each app prevent?
AirLock focuses on preventing access from unwanted locations and malicious IPs, potentially preventing bot attacks, scraping, and fraudulent orders. WeTech focuses on mitigating the impact of fraudulent orders that have already occurred, by resolving disputes and issuing refunds.
Are these apps mutually exclusive or can they be used together?
They can be used together. AirLock provides a first line of defense, preventing access from potentially fraudulent sources, while WeTech handles the aftermath of any fraudulent orders that still manage to go through.
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Based on the descriptions, WeTech likely offers a simpler setup due to its integrations with existing payment processing systems. AirLock might require more technical knowledge to configure IP and country blocking rules effectively.
What are the limitations of IP/Country blocking?
IP addresses can be spoofed or changed, making it possible for determined fraudsters to bypass IP blocking. Country blocking can also inadvertently block legitimate customers from those regions.
How does the lack of reviews affect the choice of WeTech-Dispute Resolution?
The lack of reviews introduces uncertainty. It's difficult to assess the app's effectiveness, ease of use, and reliability without user feedback. Merchants should proceed with caution and explore alternative solutions or seek more information before committing.
