AgeX ‑ age verification popup vs Omnibus Insight: Price Historyfor Shopify (2026)
AgeX ‑ age verification popup and Omnibus Insight: Price History are both legal Shopify apps with perfect 5/5 ratings. However, they address fundamentally different compliance needs. AgeX focuses on age verification, allowing merchants to restrict access to age-sensitive products with customizable popups, country-specific rules, and multi-language support. It targets businesses selling age-restricted goods like alcohol, tobacco, or mature content. In contrast, Omnibus Insight: Price History helps merchants comply with the EU Omnibus Directive by displaying the lowest price of a product over the past 30 days. Omnibus Insight is specifically designed for merchants selling to customers in the European Union and must adhere to its price transparency regulations. It automatically tracks price changes and displays the required price history, supporting multi-currency and multi-language displays. A key difference is the level of automation: Omnibus Insight largely automates price tracking and display, whereas AgeX requires merchants to configure age verification rules and customize popups. While both apps aim to enhance customer trust (AgeX by ensuring responsible sales, Omnibus Insight by ensuring pricing transparency), their target audiences and functionalities are distinct.
