Aftersell Post Purchase Upsell vs Blockify Checkout Rules Plusfor Shopify (2026)
Aftersell Post Purchase Upsell and Blockify Checkout Rules Plus both operate within the Shopify Checkout category, but they address different aspects of the checkout experience. Aftersell focuses primarily on boosting Average Order Value (AOV) through post-purchase upsells, offering merchants a way to capitalize on customer momentum after a purchase. In contrast, Blockify Checkout Rules Plus provides a more comprehensive suite of checkout customization tools, aiming to reduce friction, prevent fraud, and tailor the checkout experience for different customer segments (B2C and B2B). While Aftersell excels in post-purchase sales optimization, Blockify delivers a wider range of checkout management and customization capabilities. The primary distinction lies in their scope. Aftersell is laser-focused on post-purchase AOV increase. Blockify, conversely, offers broader checkout customization, including rule enforcement, order limits, discount management, fraud prevention, and B2B/B2C tailoring. Blockify’s “checkout extensibility functions” suggests a greater focus on code-level customization for merchants needing advanced control. The higher rating of Blockify combined with fewer reviews might indicate a more targeted user base that finds the app highly valuable, or possibly, a newer app still building its user base.
