Adsgun: Show Discounted Prices vs Gather: Refer a Friendfor Shopify (2026)
Adsgun: Show Discounted Prices and Gather: Refer a Friend both target Shopify merchants aiming to boost sales, but they approach the problem from very different angles. Adsgun focuses on on-site price promotions and automated discounting strategies, aiming to improve conversions by displaying attractive 'was/now' pricing and enabling complex discount combinations. It targets merchants seeking to automate and optimize their promotional pricing across their store, especially those with international markets or complex discounting needs. Gather, on the other hand, leverages existing customer relationships to drive new acquisitions through a 'Refer a Friend' program. Gather provides tools to incentivize customers to refer their friends and contacts, building a low-cost acquisition channel. It focuses on leveraging existing customers for growth through referral programs, whereas Adsgun is centred around on-site discounts. While both apps have perfect ratings, Gather has slightly more reviews, suggesting broader adoption. The ideal choice depends entirely on whether the merchant wants to optimize existing traffic with promotional pricing (Adsgun) or acquire new customers through referrals (Gather).
