Accessibility Way ADA WCAG EAA vs Age Check Age Verification Acefor Shopify (2026)
Accessibility Way ADA WCAG EAA and Age Check Age Verification Ace are both 5-star rated apps in the Shopify legal category, but they address fundamentally different needs. Accessibility Way focuses on ensuring website accessibility and legal compliance with accessibility standards like ADA and WCAG, catering to merchants who prioritize inclusivity and want to avoid legal issues. Age Check, on the other hand, is designed for merchants selling age-restricted products, such as alcohol or vaping products, providing a simple age verification popup to prevent sales to underage customers. The primary difference lies in their core functionality. Accessibility Way offers comprehensive accessibility features, including AI-powered alt text, keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, and customizable widgets to improve user experience for people with disabilities. It also provides legal documentation like accessibility certificates and statements. Age Check offers simpler age verification options using date of birth or yes/no confirmation. While Accessibility Way aims to widen the customer base, Age Check serves to restrict it in compliance with legal requirements for specific products.
