1Click Popups – Email Pop Ups vs COD King‑COD Fees & OTP Verifyfor Shopify (2026)
1Click Popups – Email Pop Ups and COD King‑COD Fees & OTP Verify are Shopify apps designed to enhance the customer experience and optimize conversions, but they address vastly different aspects of e-commerce operations. 1Click Popups focuses on building email and SMS lists through engaging pop-ups, embedded forms, and gamified elements like spin wheels. Its primary strength lies in lead generation and email marketing integration, leveraging features such as discount pop-ups and synchronization with popular email marketing platforms like Klaviyo and Mailchimp. It also offers integration with the Shop app, tapping into its large user base for potentially faster checkout experiences. COD King‑COD Fees & OTP Verify, on the other hand, is centered on reducing risks associated with Cash on Delivery (COD) orders. It tackles the problem of Return to Origin (RTO) and Return to Sender (RTS) by verifying order intent through OTP verification and encouraging upfront or partial payments. Its key features include COD fee implementation, conditional COD availability based on factors like location and order value, and conversion of COD orders to prepaid by offering discounts. This app primarily serves merchants operating in regions where COD is prevalent, such as India and Egypt, and face challenges related to fake orders and high return rates. Thus, while both aim to improve sales, one focuses on proactive lead generation and nurturing, and the other on mitigating post-order risks.

Our Verdict
Choosing between 1Click Popups and COD King depends entirely on a merchant's specific needs and challenges. If the primary goal is to grow an email list, engage website visitors, and drive conversions through targeted promotions, then 1Click Popups is the clear choice. Its robust feature set, visual editor, and integrations with popular marketing platforms make it a powerful tool for lead generation.
However, if a merchant is primarily concerned with the high costs and risks associated with COD orders, particularly in regions like India and Egypt, then COD King is the more appropriate solution. Its OTP verification, upfront payment options, and COD fee implementation can significantly reduce RTO rates and increase prepaid conversions. For merchants outside of COD-heavy markets or those with well-established prepaid payment methods, COD King's features may be less relevant.
