Dr Cart Shipping Rates & Rules vs Zonos Duty and Taxfor Shopify (2026)
Dr Cart Shipping Rates & Rules and Zonos Duty and Tax address entirely different facets of shipping for Shopify merchants in 2026. Dr Cart focuses on domestic or international shipping rate calculation and rule customization, allowing merchants granular control over pricing based on a wide array of factors like product dimensions, postcode, and cart contents. It's primarily aimed at optimizing domestic and international shipping pricing and options, giving merchants flexibility to offer competitive rates. Zonos, on the other hand, concentrates on simplifying international shipping by handling duties, taxes, and compliance. It guarantees duty and tax calculations, manages VAT remittance, and provides tools for creating compliant cross-border labels. This makes it ideal for merchants actively expanding into international markets and concerned about the complexities and potential cost overruns associated with cross-border trade. The caveat mentioned in its headline suggests Zonos is most beneficial for merchants who *don't* already have a Zonos Verified Account with Canada Post or Australia Post.
